When the schedules are posted there will be some employees that will complain about it and want there hours cahnged or they will shift hours with another employee. It is your job to make sure that when employees swift shifts that there is doucmentation to confirm swift. There is a ton of work involved in order to make schedules for a hospital staff.

You often have to ask staff to work long hours but you need to make sure that you allow them enough rest to give good care, a nurse or doctor will often make more mistakes if they are tired. Another problem is that there is a high turnover rate for nurses so you can not make schedules very far in advance. The nurses will get sick or quit. Even the best work schedule can be ruined by even the slightest cold. A healthcare worker can not show up to work sick because they can give it to their vulnerable patients, especially if they are working in long term care.

Healthcare facilities are usually large, employed with a lot of employees, so making the work schedule is usually a challenge. If not done in an organized manner, it could cause chaos. Its hard to find healthcare facilities with work schedule conflicts, so the question is how do they accomplish this. The best way to eliminate work schedule conflicts is to make sure that every department in the facility has a manager that handles making the schedule for employees in that department. By following this method, it will prevent all the burden from being on one person. When an employee has a work schedule conflict, it will allow them to go to the manager overseeing their department. In addtion, having and electonic method for employees to view their schedule will be a great idea. It will allow the employees to know when they work in case there is  a conflict with the schedule. It will give them time to let the manager know about it ahead of time. These are the basic steps to making schedules in a healthcare facility and a lot of addtional steps can be taken as well.
